"You are a very, very clever little girl."
-- Queen Victoria to Annie Oakley

Annie Oakley in Columbus, Ohio, 1893

Annie Oakley's life is the stuff of legends. She was born in 1860 to humble Quaker parents in Darke County, Ohio. She became a world-famous entertainer and featured performer with Buffalo Bill's Wild West show. Her self-discipline, showmanship, and legendary gifts as a sharpshooter helped her become world-famous. She was always a generous, gentle woman. She excelled in a "man's sport" and encouraged other women to do the same.

Annie Oakley's Motto

What does her motto mean?
How can her motto guide your life?

The Annie Oakley Motto

"Aim at a high mark and you will hit it.
No, not the first time, nor the second and maybe not the third.
But keep on aiming and keep on shooting for only practice will make you perfect.
Finally, you'll hit the Bull's Eye of Success."
